Lexi Jean

Last weekend I got to travel down to Lake Elsinore and meet sweet little Lexi.  She was only 10 days old and I had to force myself to put her down and take pictures of her!  She was a little angel and slept the entire time... and every time I got to pick her up to change her outfit or position, I just wanted to snuggle her!  She is the fifth baby, and just as cute as everyone of her big brothers and sisters.  She is officially the last little one who will be joining this family, and it is obvious that everyone is so happy she's finally here, and enjoying having a newborn in their home again.  

Congratulations Jon and Mallory!  You guys are five for five in the beautiful baby department!  Soak her in...

Jake Ryan

About a week and a half ago I had a date with this handsome little man.  Remember his cute parents Bri and Casey? (If you need reminding how gorgeous Bri was while this little babe was in her belly check her out here).  Well this is their sweet baby boy, Jake Ryan.  I cannot get over all his hair!  You can't really tell in these pictures because the hats pushed it all down, but when I went to meet him in the hospital the night he was born he was freshly bathed and had a full faux-hawk goin on!  My poor little babies are bald, so any baby that's born with hair is a novelty to  me!  And he already has these long eyelashes that curl up... so stinking adorable!  He was a dream baby for us... a happy little camper as we moved him all around, and even generous with the sleepy smiles at the end of our session!  Love this little sweetie already, and can't wait to watch him grow!  This is just the first of our many sessions together, I'm sure! ;)

August Matthew

This sweet boy was a long time coming, but oh so worth the wait!  His mom, Sara, is a dear friend of mine, and I was elated when she told me she was pregnant.. even more so once she found out she was having a boy after having two beautiful little girls.  Anyone who reads this blog knows how much I love me some Mama+baby boy love!  Sara delivered both of her girls before 34 weeks, so as a precaution this time around she was on bed rest from around 30 weeks until the dreaded 34 weeks not to mention all the lovely shots she had to take as well to keep this little guy cookin'... we were all so happy when she made it to 34 weeks!  We were all cheering her on every week as she made it farther and farther into her pregnancy, and celebrating her first time in each new week of full term pregnancy.  We all knew she hit her new "week" mark on Thursdays, and would shower her facebook page with congratulatory messages on those days especially.  Imagine everyone's surprise to still see her pregnant belly at a full 40 weeks!  She was induced 2 days after hitting her 40 week mark, and we all waited on pins and needles for the pictures of this sweet little face.  And tell me... was he worth the wait or what?!  

This little boy is l-o-v-e-d!  Two big sisters who dote on him all day, and a mom who just can't seem to put him down... that's one lucky little guy!  Truly this little baby has hit the jackpot as far as family's go... two parents who adore each other, big sisters wh really are best friends, and a whole big extended friends and family team who can't wait to love him and watch him grow.  I know he will flourish here... so glad you are here Mr. Auggie!

Today was baby John's "official" newborn shoot.  Seriously... is this not one of the most gorgeous newborns you've ever seen?!  He's adorable!  And such a sweet, happy boy.  Today was also his big sisters second birthday!  Lots more fun pictures to share...

A few weeks ago I donated a session to an auction benefitting The Ruby Jane Foundation.  If you have not yet heard the story of sweet Ruby, I encourage you to visit the link and learn more about her.  That sweet baby girl passed away while waiting for an organ donation to save her life.  The mission of the foundation created in her name is to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation, and to encourage people to sign up to become donors.  I can't imagine the pain a family would feel to lose a baby... I am sure there aren't words for the intensity of it.  But I know that her family is passionate about helping to save other families from the pain they have endured.  This is the season of giving and sharing... I can't think of a better, or simpler, way to serve than to sign up to be a donor!  Please visit the the foundations website to learn more about what you can do to help this cause!

I was thrilled to get an email from Stephanie on Friday saying she had won the package, and had a 4 day old she wanted to get some pictures of.  I was so happy to get to meet her, and to shoot this beautiful newborn.  As much as I love shooting families, by the end of Christmas picture season, I am itching to shoot something else, and we all know how much I love shooting newborns!  I jumped at the chance to get him so small, and scheduled an appointment for the next morning.  He was such a wonderful baby... so sleepy, and content.  He let us move him all around, change his outfits, backdrops, etc., and never made a peep.  I loved getting to know his parents, and adorable older brother, Bennett.  It is safe to say that there is no shortage of love for this little man!
