Tonya Joy Workshop {All the Little Details}

Tonya and Kristina left no stone unturned when it came to all the little details featured in this shoot.  There was a carousel with cups of kettle corn centered on a beautiful table adorned with lollipops and cotton candy cones.  The colors were perfect shades of blush, champagne and tiffany blue.  There was a handcrafted swing, and a gorgeous bouquet for Crystal.  The whole day was drenched in warmth and whimsy and was an absolute delight.  Tonya's desire to share with other people her passion for photography was infectious, and it was so fun to watch the excitement in my fellow photographers throughout our day together.

Tonya,

I can't even begin to thank you!  I absolutely loved every second of the workshop.  None of the little details you poured your time and attention into went overlooked, and I learned so much.  Your pictures are a perfect depiction of their creator...they are warm, inviting, and emotion provoking, just as you are.  You are as inspirational as you are generous, and extraordinarily talented.  Thank you, thank you, thank you, for spending your time with me for a day and teaching me the tricks of your trade.  You are one of a kind, my friend!  {Loves}

Tonya Joy Workshop Part II

The second shoot of the workshop is always the favorite.  Tonya scores a gorgeous couple and pours her heart, time, and talent into creating a dreamy, romantic shoot that always has everyone drooling.  This was no exception.  Sticking with her vintage circus theme, Crystal wore the perfect little hair accessory.  Crystal and Ryan were wonderful models brought to Tonya by Vivian Tran, who will be doing Crystal's make up when she and Ryan tie the knot in July.  These two were a dream to shoot!  Every shot was perfection, and Ryan was just oozing adoration for his sweet little bride to be.  Tonya did a beautiful job making sure everything was just right down to the earrings Crystal wore, or the embellishments on her shoes.  Tonya and her wonderful assistant extraordinaire, Kristina Kendig painted ladders, created the most gorgeous swing to hang from the trees, and an entire table scape that was utter perfection.  Ryan is sure a lucky guy to get to call Crystal his forever, and we were all lucky to have them as muses for the afternoon!

Tonya Joy Workshop Part I

This weekend I had the chance to participate in a workshop put on by my dear friend, and mentor Tonya.  Her work is a.ma.zing.  Her work is always flawless, and so full of emotion.  Her workshops always contain two fully stylized shoots dreamed up by she and her team (Stylists Katrina Kirk, and Vivian Tran).  The first shoot of the day was a fun editorial shoot playing off two gorgeous mimes depicting polar opposites.  Like everything Tonya does, it was perfection.  She was so generous with her time and knowledge, and made sure to take as much time as the participants needed to work with them and share all of her tricks and tips.  These were my faves from this shoot... I could have shot these girls all day!  Ashley and Cora you were WONDERFUL!

Camden {8 Months Old}

Camden is the daughter of a dear friend of mine, who I first shot when she was three months old.  Luckily, I get to see her often, and love getting to soak in her fun, silly, sweet little personality!  She is a lively, good natured little sweetheart, and I was so excited to shoot her again when she turned 8 months old!  We missed the 6 month marker with all the craziness of the holidays, and her mama wanted to make sure she had some documentation of what a fun phase they're enjoying with little Camden.  Her mom and I are already scheming and brainstorming to do some adorable things when she turns ONE!

Carly {1 Year Old}

Carly is one of the happiest little girls I've ever met!  She has piercing blue eyes, and dimples that will melt you.  She is pretty mellow, with just the right amount of drama and sass to keep her parents on their toes ;)  Carly, her parents, and I all enjoyed our fun morning together being silly, and getting this happy little camper to smile for the camera.  Happy first birthday, Carly girl!

Mackenzie and Cheyenne {Newborn}

A friend of mine had twin girls a few weeks ago, and I couldn't wait to get over and get some shots of them while they were still teeny tiny!  So when the girls were two weeks old, I headed over to capture their cuteness on film.  They are total opposites...the "diva" with dark hair and eyes, and her sister her mirror opposite is mellow with light hair and blue eyes.  They're both DARLING!  We shot for a little while until the girls were tuckered out, and set up a time to come back and take some more pictures with Mom and Dad, so be on the lookout for that!
